Church Extension Fund is a unique ministry that provides capital funding and financial services to congregations, schools, and missions of the California-Nevada-Hawaii District of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
CEF provides funds for the purchase of property and the construction and expansion of facilities for congregations and schools throughout the District. Funding for these projects comes through investments in CEF made by members of District congregations.
What makes Church Extension Fund unique is the double benefit gained in a CEF investment. CEF investors receive a reasonable rate of return on their investment. At the same time, they receive the satisfaction of knowing their investment is being used to equip schools and congregations with an effective tool for worship, education, fellowship, witness and service to its members and surrounding community.

MissionInsite Service RenewedIn response to the great feedback we've received on the ease of use and helpfulness of the MissionInsite ministry support program offered by CEF this past year, we've renewed the service through 2012. MissionInsite provides a comprehensive, targeted, demographic tool you may subscribe to and use at NO COST to your congregation. MissionInsite moves beyond the static reports you may have ordered to a powerful online “discovery tool” for exploration and “out of the box” thinking for church ministry, church planting, church growth and outreach. The MI System gives you desktop, web-based access to demographic data for a variety of geographic levels. Click here for an Introduction to MissionInsite. The system may be accessed from a computer having access to the Internet. After setting up a user profile specific to your church's needs, you may design your own studies and tools, and even mark where your members live. Click here for instructions on setting up a MissionInsite user profile through CEF's account and for notes on using the tool.Time to Spruce Up the Place? For a limited time CEF is offering a Repair and Refurbishment Loan. This new type of loan offers District churches and schools an opportunity to immediately make needed repairs and pay for them over time. Repair and Refurbishment loans offer advantageous terms and repayment schedules, with low fees, reduced documentation, and at a low rate of CEF’s Cost of Funds plus 1/4 %. Loans may be taken for up to $150,000, and are offered first-come-first-served for a District maximum of $1 Million. For more information, call CEF toll-free at (866) 452-6739. |
Million Dollar Churches Honored at LCEF Fall Leadership ConferenceThe Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) honored two congregations in the CNH District of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) for their support of ministry November 18, 2011 at LCEF’s annual leadership conference in Raleigh, N.C. St. John Lutheran Church, Napa, and Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, San Francisco, members were recognized for achieving $1 million in investments with CNH District CEF, combined with at least 10% investor participation from the congregation. Accepting the award on behalf of St. John was Rev. Michael Schmid, and for Holy Spirit, John Wagenbach, CNH District CEF Vice President of Operations and Loans. “We recognize the outstanding efforts of St. John and Holy Spirit members in supporting the ministry of Church Extension and spreading the word of how investments and loans are helping sustain and grow The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod,” said LCEF President/CEO Rich Robertson. Nine congregations in the District currently have $1 Million or more invested in CNH District CEF, a testimony to the faithfulness and commitment of the people in the District to mission outreach through CEF.
